Re: Vacation planning with worms!?
Thanks Dan! The’ll be snug in the kitchen and I am getting someone to come in to feed them. They’re spoiled. Hopefully they’ll reward me in the spring.

Vacation planning with worms!?
Hi Andrew. We are going to Europe for 3.5 months (Dec. to mid March) and I am worried about what to do with our worm bin. We were away for 5 weeks this September and they had eaten all the food I’d stock piled in their bin and were hiding in the soil in the bottom. Should I set them free? Can I stoc...

Re: Growing sunchokes
Yes, southern exposure against a tool shed. Warm enough to grow peaches in the same location. The sunchokes are very prolific but if they don’t bloom again this year i am going to deter them from growing next year. I don’t understand why they won’t flower, we used to grow them in a inner-city school...

No Fruit again on Fruit trees.
We bought good size dwarf fruit trees three springs ago, I mean they were a little bigger than the small saplings they sell. Planted in good soil and sprayed with dormant oil and lime sulphur in late winter before there were any buds. Not a fan of spraying but since they have yet to bear fruit we re...

Early Blight or Flea Beetles on Tomato leaves.
I have 8 tomato plants that are in a new location, planted in the premium composted soil with a scoop of worm casting, against a fence, southern exposure. They are all 8 have holes in the leaves and are yellowing. they are (were) all good plants grown at a local farm. I’ve picked up the damaged leav...

Black spot on roses.
Does anyone have a remedy for black spot on roses. The roses look beautiful except they are now showing blackspot on the leaves. They are all in large ceramic pots. In very good soil and have been fertilized with Andrew’s special mix. (From the course). I am spraying them with baking soda mixed in a...

Re: Pill bugs
Pill Bugs and Sow bugs are the same critter I believe, and they surely ate their way through a crop of early radishes. I followed Dan’s advice to my post and placed half lemon and a banana peel (most popular) and transported a great many of them to a better location. Radishes are looking much better...
