Have you found the overwintering type easier to grow? I've found the consistent watering of the summer varieties to be a bit difficult to manage, so I was wondering if overwintering varieties might yield me better results

Over the last few years, we have found that we eat much less cauliflower/broccoli during the summer months as there is so much more abundance then. This, combined with pest pressure during the summer months, has made cauliflower and broccoli a wonderful fall/early winter/over winter option. It is definately easier without the pest pressure and the need for water, and the bonus is that by the time fall hits, we're ready for a change in food anyway.
