Transporting red wigglers
I’ve had my hungry bin for 7 months now and it’s been kept inside the entire time. I have a large amount of worms now :) Andrew mentioned in the compost zoom meeting that you can take worms from the hungry bin and put them out in your pots on your balcony. I always thought compost worms needed decay...

Re: transplanting
I haven’t tried onions this way but I am trying beets, radishes and spring onions in clumps this year. Charles Dowding also does it this way (with onions too 4-6 in each clump). Seems to make sense to me, efficient and space saving. I would go ahead and try it, I will be too! https://m.youtube.com/w...

Re: Rain water storage
I am very interested in this topic too! Last season during the heat wave we were on stage 4 water restrictions - no watering allowed at all! We only had 2 small rain barrels on the deck so quickly set up two 1000l tanks to our downspouts but it doesn’t seem to be a very efficient system (hose is con...

I have transplanted a couple that had the most leaf curl into larger pots and the leaves are still curling but I’m hoping they will bounce back soon! I’...

Re: What is happening to my tomato seedlings!
Hi Jack, thanks for your response…I have tried to post pics but it’s saying the files are too big. I’ve tried from my phone and from my computer even making them smaller. Sorry I’m not very good with computers! Can I email them to you?

What is happening to my tomato seedlings!
A couple days ago I noticed 2 out of 21 of my tomato seedlings look sick. Both seedlings are cherry tomatoes variety “sugary.”and they are in the same tray as the rest of them and the rest look great. The leaves are curling upwards and they have purple veins, and the underside of the leaves are purp...

Re: Soil recipe for seed starts
Thank you for this recipe, I am looking forward to trying it!
Is there a bag of potting mix you can recommend starting with? Is it ok to use a bag of compost or soil from the garden? I’m also curious as to weather vermicompost needs to be aged and what is the best way to store it?
