Frequently Asked Questions

Course FAQ’s

LHG is a self-paced, video based, organic, no-till gardening course.

While it is self-paced and you can watch the videos at your leisure, our intention is to take growers step-by-step through each season of the 2022 growing season. To that end, we will be recording and releasing seasonally adapted content as the year progresses.

Although we are based in the Pacific Northwest, the principles we share are applicable to all growing regions; they will work with nature and your indigenous biology.

For more detail, please refer to our About Course page or feel free to send us a specific question.

We guide and support participants year-round by addressing individual questions through our members’ discussion forum as well as through our regular Q&A webinars (March-October). Our hand-holding will include those who might be in growing regions other than the Pacific Northwest, with different climates and soil types.

If you have any questions related to the course content or specific to what you are growing, please post them within the relevant category on the members’ discussion forum.

The forum is our main community hub and the answers that Dan, Andrew or Jack supply to your questions could be of benefit to other members. So the forum is the preferred medium for Q&A, in addition to the webinar Zoom meetings (March-October).

If you are a member but not yet registered for the forum, please contact us with your desired username and password as we will need to register you on there manually. Members who registered for our members’ area on/after 30-Mar-2022 were automatically also registered on the forum. However, members who joined us prior to this date would have had to register for the forum separately.

Note that the forum is publicly viewable to the world, but only LHG members are entitled to post questions there.

If you’re not sure how to post on the forum and/or attach images/files, please refer to the Welcome post here.

Andrew Couzens is a software engineer turned soil scientist.

A life long sufferer with inflammatory bowel disease, he was motivated to enter the agricultural space in an effort to “be the change” he believed was necessary to heal his own body.

Healthy plants come from healthy soil, and healthy soil comes from working with nature, not against it.

Leveraging his knowledge and experience in software engineering, he started Terra Flora Organics with a goal of helping conventional growers move from unsustainable practices that destroy soil and negatively affect the health of people and the planet, to regenerative practices that allow intensive farming whilst building soil and healing our minds and our bodies.
