Where's it go?

I have such a hard time finding a good place to plant my fennel! Where do you grow yours? Underplanting an apple tree? Near my roses? In the cutting garden? I planted it under a pear tree before, and while I don't think it's definitely what diseased the tree, I'm not sure it helped..

I'm not sure it helps, but I just allocate a space for it in a bed. I'd love to hear more about planting it under fruit trees.
