Like earlier discussion by members I also put a thick layer of leaves on my raised beds in the fall.
Come spring - is there a concern that a layer of mulch causes the soil to warm up more slowly?
I am in calgary at 1100 meter elevation and cooler nights. Is it more of a concern here, in spring, that beds take longer to warm up. Should I remove mulch till beds warm up?
Thanks Sabrina

I recognize your concern but believe the difference in temperature will be minimal. I'd be interested in you placing a thermometer in the soil where the mulch is removed and one where the mulch is kept in place. Temperatures will probably be very similar. If not, return to this post and share your findings
