Some of you may remember the Zoom recording Dan did last spring, using “Barb’s Garden” as an example of a big challenge! I’ve spent the past year removing weeds, laying cardboard and wood chips, making compost…I’m hoping to actually grow something besides weeds this year!! Still lots of work to do, but I’m hopeful for some success!! I’m so grateful to have found the Local Harvest course
I'm very impressed with the progress you've made. When I analyzed your garden during that zoom I tried to be brutally honest but that came at the risk of discouraging the gardener. You took it as a challenge and magically transformed your space. I appreciate that!
Thanks for your reply Dan! I do love a challenge and will continue removing weeds and laying cardboard and wood chips- with the help of a new tractor. We are planning to redo the fence with new borders, and are building a garden shed and greenhouse. I will plant potatoes in a couple of the beds, as you have suggested for conditioning the soil, and am going to keep my aspirations fairly moderate for growing this summer - tomatoes, beans, cukes, squash. I’m much more hopeful for long term success now!
